While there are a lot of people complaining about bugs with the new update from Apple, there are some pretty cool things they have added. One great new tool for families is the Find My iPhone functionality. This functionality has actually been there for a while, but the big change is that you can also add the “Send Last Location” option.

If you’re like our families, when one of our kids can’t find their iPod/iPad/iPhone the additional challenge is that it’s most likely out of battery. This new setting will send one last ping before it dies (sounds very dramatic, I know) and so when you go to locate the device, it will have it’s most final signal. Really useful.

Just go to: Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone (or iPad/iPod) and turn on the Send Last Location option.
