AleSmith is one of the dominant players here in San Diego. I was first turned on to them by a friend who gave me one of their famous Speedway Stouts. Really good, though for me their Nut Brown Ale is top shelf. They also have a good set of barrel-aged options. Their old location was a great little spot in an industrial park, but their new spot is amazing. Lots of room, great for groups and meetups. AleSmith feels like one of the teenagers at the kids table – everyone is looking up to them. It’s cool to watch them grow and see their beers getting more mainstream around San Diego (and in other cities!)
