There are times when your Apple laptop software and your iPhone software don’t match up and it’s a little jarring. For anyone who has gone through the trouble of creating Groups within Contacts, you have experienced this.
First of all, Groups are awesome. We’ve all used them for years. Group contacts and communicate with them quickly. Easy, right?
Except if you happen to be on your iPhone.
It works fine and as you would expect if you’re on your desktop. Start typing the Group name and it fills in the rest. But try that same thing from your iPhone or iPad and you’re out of luck.
One way around it that I’ve found is to download an app called Connect (click here to download). That’s right, you have to download an app for your iPad or iPhone. I’m hoping at some point that won’t be the case. Once you download the free app, you allow the app to access your Contacts and then you’re good to go. Hold down the button for the group you want and you’re presented with a list of options for contacting that group.
Hopefully iOS will catch up so we don’t need 3rd party apps, but until then at there are solutions!
